Harmony Global Foods

The meaning behind our name.

Halmony. (Sounds like Harmony.)  It means grandmother in Korean.  The matriarchs in our family are the inspiration for our desire to create modern cultural cuisine.  They loved us through the meals they prepared, and despite scarcity and lack, used their creativity to make abundance.  From their most basic desire to feed us emerged a cuisine.  Women of color like them are true culinary geniuses.

Modern. While our foods are rooted in tradition, we push the limits on new and exciting flavors that reflect the diversity of today’s global cuisine.

For the Culture. The food of immigrants and diverse communities should be valued and celebrated. Our tagline recognizes that culture, homeland, and identity is central to our brand.

Matriarchs are shown in order of appearance:  Shim Soon Yi, Chong Suk Gregory, D’alton Adrianne Williams, and Eliza Williamson

Our Mission

At Harmony Global Foods, we pride ourselves in making delicious modern cuisine for the culture.

The mission of Harmony Global Foods is to bring diversity to the marketplace of packaged foods and cater to global food lovers who want the garlicky, spicy and savory dishes that are quintessential cultural cuisine.

Our Vision

See yourself in our food.

Remember the first time you saw food from diverse cultures at your local grocery store?  For us it was exciting and validating to know that the needs of our community were being considered.  It also conveyed that the cuisine that we enjoyed at home wasn’t odd or weird, but that it was desirable and delicious to many people.  We felt seen. We want everyone to have that experience.

Our vision is to become a global producer of high-quality cultural cuisine and a house of diverse food brands. We want to share our products in a variety of retail stores and online so everyone can experience seeing themselves in our food.

About us

The founders.

Our passion for cultural cuisine runs deep and begins with our co-founders, Christine Gregory and Terrence Williams.  Christine was raised on her father’s traditional “soul food” cooking and her mother’s spicy Korean dishes.  Terrence has strong ties to the South and is a lover of Southern food.  Their commitment to making food that is a true reflection of their culture is a core value at Harmony Global Foods.
